Neel sits directly beneath the house's wind tower. The shaft opens into the ceiling, and on a summer evening you can stand under it and feel the pull of air the house was engineered around — cooling that owes nothing to machinery.

The room takes its name from the indigo the creek once traded. The textiles here are dyed in it: a woven runner across the foot of the bed, cushions on the window seat, nothing more. The walls stay white.

It is a room people ask for by name in June and July, and it earns it.
