The sidr tree in the courtyard is older than the restoration and possibly older than half the quarter, and this room lives in its crown. Open the shutters and the nearest branch is close enough to touch.

Light in Sidr is green-filtered in the morning and golden by late afternoon. The bed faces the window; the desk — the best in the house, a long teak plank — runs beneath it.

Birdsong is part of the room. Guests either mention it in reviews or ask us to name the birds, and the answer is: bulbuls, mostly.
