Barjeel is a room inside the wind tower's base — the smallest in the house and the one guests argue over. A steep stair, a low door, and then the quarter's rooftops on three sides.

The bed sits in the tower's square footprint under six metres of shaft; lie back and the view is straight up through the structure that cooled this house for eighty years.

It shares the roof with Dana but not the terrace: Barjeel's territory is a small private balcony, exactly big enough for two chairs and a teapot at sunset.
